Advertising powerpoing

Task

I was away for this lesson but here it is. The questions that are included at the beginning of the slideshow need to be completed on a word document that can be copied and pasted onto your blog on Wednesday.

You should aim to complete the questions for at least 3 ads during the lesson and 1 for homework (meaning that by Wednesday you must have at least 4 sets of answers for your blog

Go Green

1. In this add I see a light green happy frog, sitting down with its tongue poking out. I see the words “Go Green!” in big letters and the words “reduce, recycle, reuse” in small letters. I see the symbol for recycle all around the frog.

2. The purpose of this advertisement is to get people to recycle. I know this as it used the words recycle, it shows the recycle symbol all around the picture and it is green. This advertisement is most likely trying to get people to remember that recycling is compulsory and that it will help frogs and other species.

3. This advertisement is most likely aimed for around younger people, like ages 6 upwards. This is because it is simple, has a cartoon image on it and is all one colour with easy words. This advertisement is more for making sure that younger children know about recycling as it is easy to understand.

4. The creator has chosen to use particular graphical features to get people to notice and relies what the advertisement is about easily. This is done by the simple green colour, cartoon picture and easy words.

5. The creator has chosen to use particular language features so that people get the drift and understand it. I think he has chosen these types of words to give the audience a little bit of encouragement as it simply says “Go Green”.

6. Yes this advertisement does achieve its purpose as when I read it, it constantly reminded me about recycling.

Global warming

1. In this picture I see two polar bears sleeping in a box in a revolting place with cabbage surrounding them. I see little placed everywhere and spills of liquids on the ground. I see graffiti on the wall and the words “GLOBAL WARMING IS LEAVING MANY HOMELESS”.

2. I think the purpose of this advertisement is to get people to understand that global warming is terrible and it is taking over our lives. It is endangering many species and leaving not only animals but humans homeless.

3. This advertisement is aimed at the ages 15 and older. I say this because many young people do not know what global warming is and as they read the advertisement they will not understand. The colours and images will not appeal that much to them as they are not bright and catchy! This advertisement is meant to great sympathy for the world.

4. The creator of this advertisement has chosen to use specific graphical features to creator sympathy. He/she uses a very poor and low area that has garbage everywhere and a wall that has been graphitized. The creator used animals that everyone thinks is cute just to get them to realize that it is hurting many people and animals even if they are cute, rich or poor.

5. The creator of this advertisement has chosen particular language features to make it simple and to get straight to the point. The first thing the viewers will read is global warming as it has its own line and is situated at the top. This will enable readers to know what it is about. The advertisement also gives a hint of what it is doing to the world which reminds readers how bad it is.
6. Yes I think this advertisement achieves its purpose as it short and simple and creates sympathy.

Cigarette advertisement

1. In this advertisement I see a whole lot of used cigarettes bunched together in the middle of the ad. I see the words “Don’t stick your butt out the car window” and “Please butt it, then bin it” and I see the keep Australia beautiful logo.

2. The purpose of this advertisement is to keep people alert about where cigarettes should be placed. It is trying to get people not to litter.

3. This ad is aimed for the ages 18 and older, as cigarettes are only legal for people over 18.

4. The creator chose these graphic features so they know what the ad is about and in this case they know it’s about cigarettes as it has cigarettes placed in the middle of the picture.

5. The creator ha chosen to use particular language features so they people remember it and it keeps getting stuck in your mine. The creator reminds people about what to do with the cigarette when it is finished by the words he has used.

6. Yes I think the ad achieves its purpose at it is catchy and memorable.
