The role of women in Elizabethan England


Women believed that they were less important then men in this period of time. They were inferior to men. Elizabethan women were no where near as important as the men. When they had families women were obligated to obey the men even if it was their brothers, uncles or husband. Their roles in society were to look after the houses and basically make sure everything was fine, as they were known as house women.


Class distinctions in Elizabethan England


The class distinction in Elizebethan England is basically the difference between the upper class and the lower class. People could not move out of their social class, once they were in it they could not move, it was like from when they were born to when they died the people belonged in the same social class their whole life. The noble were the people who were rich and were a lot better off then any of the other classes. There were many social classes in between the noble and poor class. The poor were known as the people who were at the bottom and had the worst of every world.


Entertainment in Elizabethan England


Entertainment in the Elizabethan era was extremely important. Elizabethan entertainment was popular whenever there was something to celebrate! A betrothal, wedding, victories and festivals. Court entertainment was also very regular as they had a lot of feasts, jousts, and banquets, involving lots of music and dancing.

Education in Elizabethan England


Education during the Elizabethan era was mostly for boys and people who belonged in the middle and upper classes. The basic principles of childhood and education would be started in the home. These basic elements included: Respecting their mother and father, Asking their parents blessing, Rising early in the morning and saying their prayers, Table Manners - the correct behavior for eating small morsels, chewing properly, using a knife and using a napkin, Children would also be taught their 'place' in society which included where they should sit at the table, and Elizabethan Girls would be taught obedience to the male members of the family. Their education would then generally diverse from the boys to concentrate on housewifely duties and sometimes music and dance.

It is very good to see that you are up to date in your work. However, you need to be very careful that you proof read all your work before you publish it. There are a number of silly spelling errors that you should have picked up when you edited your work. See if you can find them :)
