Reflection task

Reflection Task
Each student is to write a reflection on some co-curricular activity in which they’ve been involved this year that could be included in this year's ammonite. You can use the following guidelines:
· Name of activity
· Why you ‘signed up’?
· What were your fears/expectations?
· Did it live up to your expectations – what benefits/enjoyment, did you
· Would you recommend it (why)

Banksias house musical

The co curricular I have enjoyed most this year is the Banksian House Musicals. I signed up for the musical because I knew that there was dancing involved and I love dancing, people from the previous years said that it is so much fun and you meet so many new people, all of my friends where doing it and I joined to feel good in myself and help out Banksia. I got asked to cerograph some of the dancers and I was fearing that the dances I would cerograph weren’t going to be good enough, the captains weren’t going to like it and that all the pressure would get to my head because I had to fit in musicals, homework and all of my other commitments. However in the end I had nothing to fear about because they all understood, as they were going through the exact same stage as I was. I was expecting that I was going to meet lots of people, have fun, feel good in myself for doing something for my house and perform dancing, in which I love. The musicals did live up to my expectations and more. The benefits of this musical was that I met so many new people, so many that when I needed help with something or needed to talk to someone about something I could just go to them even if they were in other grades or social groups. For example I met this girl named Maddy and she’s a senior and when I was having trouble with my math’s homework she was there to help me. I did have so much fun and now I can look back on it and say that the musicals was one of the most fun experiences in my life. I gained so much from the musical as I now have so many fabulous memories that I will always have with me. I would defiantly recommend doing the house musicals because it was one the best experiences I have ever had and no doubt about it, it could be yours too. I can guarantee that you will love it and when the year has ended and you look back at everything you did; musicals will be one of the activities you gained the most from.

Jaime, it's good to see that you enjoyed your participation in the Banksia musicals so much. I know that when I was supervising rehearsals it was clear that you contributed a great deal to the success of the dances. Don't forget to check the spelling of difficult or tricky words such as "choreograph" and "definitely".
